History
Servando Galo Rodriguez is a coffee producer from Montecillos, he was born in el Chichicastal, Santiago, La Paz 1957 he started harvesting since age 22, and has been improving methods to get a good quality product. He went to elementary school Escuela Marco Aurelio Soto in El Encimal. For Money reasons he had to leave school, and dedicated to help his father in harvesting coffee until they got 25 mz of coffee growing land. Quality Practices The coffee is processed by the traditional methods like Dry milling and coffee dried in cement patios, there is no use of pesticides, herbicides, or chemicals used to control plagues, his dry milling system includes a classification system of coffee classification in a concrete canal to obtain good quality.
Environmental Care
The coffee is harvested under shade with species like Guama, Guanijiquil, woods, and fruits. This assures the protection of nature. Some species of animals found here are: rabbits, squirrels and variety of birds.
Coffee Processing Information
Fertilization: Coffee is fertilized with products such as Urea y Kcl. Harvest: The harvest starts in December and ends in April every year, women and men do the cherry picking. Wet Milling: Mr. Servando has his own wet milling system, he has a pulping , fermentation tanks, and cement patios to dry coffee.
