Overview:

Ricardo Zelaya made the decision to rent the farm called San Agustin back in 2005. A 16 year old contract made Ricardo start planting the farm with coffee right away. Taking down the crops of corn and beans left from the previous owner, Ricardo planted the whole farm of 22 acres in the first two years. Seventeen of these acres are planted with Caturra and Via Sarchi, and the other five acres with Bourbón.

San Agustin’s location, Antigua Guatemala , is one of the main reasons why this coffee is so exquisite. Its altitude goes from 1,600 to 1,850 meters above sea level.  All of San Agustin’s coffee is milled and processed in Ricardo’s main farm, Santa Clara, which is a five time winner of the Cup of Excellence finals.

The last addition to this mill is a greenhouse built for drying coffee, which improves even more the quality of the coffee. Despite San Agustin’s early age as a coffee farm, the quality of its coffee is already being recognized by buyers from all over the world. We expect only great things from this small farm with big potential.
