Fazenda da Gema was the property of my father-in-law who was born in Carmo de Minas. Since 1980 my wife and I, who are from Rio de Janeiro, have come to like the property and coffee, and we began to administer the farm. Around 2000, we decided to move, coming to live in Carmo de Minas and we dedicated ourselves more diligently to the property. Nowadays it is ours and is our livelihood.
Concern about quality:
We wish to preserve the quality that we achieve through crop care, combined with the elevation and the quality of the soil. Today we are certified by Flo Cert as Fairtrade and members of ASCARIVE – Associação dos Cafeicultores do Vale do Rio Verde and of COCARIVE – Cooperativa Regional dos Cafeicultoresdo Vale do Rio Verde.
