The farm el Derrumbo started when I was a cattle rancher, I used to raise cattle but it was very difficult to work with cattle so I started planting coffee.
At the beginning I planted up 200 trees per year, the first coffee I planted was pacas, I used to buy the seedbed at the store every year and it took me ten years to plant 3 hectares. There I also worked in a sustainable coffee project, they had appointed me technician there, they gave me training to go see the coffee growers, the technicians told me that I should plant pacamara coffee but I did not want to plant it because where my son Eber had planted 1000 coffee plants of that variety we saw that it was very low production but with the time the coffee was getting acclimatized there, the production went well so I decided to plant pacamara coffee.
First I planted a thousand trees, the first harvest gave me 100 pounds gold, I sold 90 pounds and I was the first one who went to negotiate and sold my coffee at $3.15. Then I continued sowing and planted two thousand trees per year and now I ´m able to participate in the cup of excellence program.
