WINNING LOTS FARM STORY (KAREHE 3007)
The KAREHE pulping station is one of the 22 washing stations under the management of SOGESTAL KAYANZA. It is located in a high altitude with 1 750 m.
She is a young washing station (built in 2007) but has a high experience in processing of specialty coffee because it participates in the COE competitions and won in the competition of 2015.
She transforms the cherry coffee produced in 8 hills of BUSIGA municipality, NGOZI Province which is the area of good productivity of quality coffee. The soil is generally volcanic but variable from one Hill to another (Hygroferrisol and Kaolisol). Specialty coffee is prepared separately. The averge production is 450.000 Kg and the specialty coffee represents 75% of all that produce.
The number of coffee-growers who bring cherry coffee vary between 1500 and 2000 depending on the average or good production campaign.
