The farm is located in the east part of El Salvador, in the town of Berlin, Usulután, the cultivated are of coffee is 31 hectares, at a plateau of the Tecapa Volcano, with altitude of 1500 to 1550 meters above sea level. The farm owner is Gilberto Baraona, who is a 4th generation coffee farmer, and has been in the Baraona family since 1889.
Las Palmas has been several times CoE winner, the specialty coffee potential from this farm was first discover by Taroh Suzuki, owner of Saza Coffee in Japan.
The farm is an exceptional farm, has the optimal specialty coffee growing conditions, volcanic soil, cold climate, annual rain amount, and solar exposure. Currently the primary varietals in production are: Bourbon Elites, Pacamara, and Pacas. The farm process washed, honeys, and naturals, with natural and mechanical fermentation process.
This microlot is a Pacamara Varietal, Natural Process, shade dry in raised african beds. The farm provides permanent employment to more than 10 persons, and all proceeds from the COE, are re-invest in the farm and its workers.
