* Farm History:
The Recreo estate is a coffee plantation acquired in 1972 dedicated to the production and processing of special coffee. It is exported mostly to North America, it is also processed and distributed in the US market and there El Recreo Estate Inc with a subsidiary in Boston serves the market with its own roasters store and cafeteria.
The Recreo Estate makes its own coffee slogan with the taste of social responsibility respecting the rights of our workers and the control of the environment
* Family Generations:
We are in the second generation since our children take over the farm now
* What were the good practices that you implemented that made it the winner of the Cup of Excellence program?
We have certifications from Rainforest Alliance Utz who every year attest to our support and respect for labor, environmental, occupational safety and good agricultural practices. It also has the verification of the private programs of Café Practice of Starbucks and AAA of Nespresso. We are implementing new formulas for Fertilization and processing coffee in its drying. We have multiple changes in the wet benefit and we are processing the drying on the farm which I think has substantially improved the quality.
* How does it feel to be one of the winners?
Proud, motivated, assuming the responsibility that we have to be better and I still say coffee "nature makes it perfect" do not destroy it on the way
* In what will you invest the profits you obtain from the cup of excellence?
In giving better conditions to my workers always the quality awards that we have obtained are invested in preparing more spaces where our workers and their children live, to make ¨El Recreo¨ the best place to share with their families
* Had you participated in the Cup of Excellence program before?
I would say that I had sent samples, but inside me I would say that there was no direct participation, but that everything filled a space.
* What do you think of the cup of excellence program?
For me as a producer it is the competition where all the effort that the producer has made during the year is acknowledged sacrifice to bring to the world the best of which is an excellent cup of coffee. It is a tool to promote the company and the qualities that are given within it.
