Santa Rosa
The farm is located in the east part of El Salvador, in the town of Berlin, Usulután, the
cultivated are of coffee is 30 hectares, at the slopes of the Tecapa Volcano, with altitude of 1300 to 1350 Meters above sea level.
The farm owner is Gilberto Baraona, who is a 4th generation coffee farmer, and has been in the Baraona family since 1889.
Santa Rosa has been several times COE winner, the farm is exceptional, due to the optimal specialty coffee growing conditions, volcanic soil, cold climate, annual rain amount, and solar exposure.
Currently the primary varietals in production are: Bourbon Elites, Pacamara, and Pacas. The farm process washed, honeys, and naturals, with natural and mechanical fermentation process.
This microlot is a red pacamara varietal, with a special black honey process, shade dry in raised african beds for 20 days.
The farm provides permanent employment to more than 15 persons, and all proceeds from the COE, are re-invest in the farm and its workers.
