COCAN Kabuga has a beautiful scenery at very high altitude close to lake Kivu. This CWS started in 2010, it is located in Karambi Sector, Nyamasheke District, Western Province.
The coffee washing station processes the Fully-washed coffee at the washing station. The process involves a double fermentation (36 hours); 4 covered tables for hand sorting and dried on raised tables. The pulp distributed to farmers for compost and the famers are also urged to use cherry compost which is available as an organic fertilizer.
Recently, the cooperative started the farmer filed school (FFS) to train farmers in good coffee husbandry.
