WINNING LOTS FARM STORY (GITWENGE 1302)
The GITWENGE pulping station is one of the 22 washing stations under the management of SOGESTAL KAYANZA. It is located in an average altitude of 1 400 m.
She has high experience in processing specialty coffee because she started this last activity since 1990.
Drying tables
She transforms the cherry coffee produced in more than 12 hills distributed in 3 municipalities (GATARA, GAHOMBO and BUTAGANZWA) which are in areas of good productivity of quality coffee. The soil is generally volcanic but variable from one Hill to another (Hygroxeroferrisol, Hygroferrisol and Kaolisol). Specialty coffee is prepared separately from others by considering hills where they are produced. The average production is 250.000 Kg and the specialty coffee represents 75% of all that produce.
Cherries to process and parchment on drying tables
The number of coffee-growers who bring cherry coffee vary between 1500 and 2500 depending on the average or good production campaign.
