History
I bought this farm 11 years ago, and at that time, it only had 15 coffee trees older than 7 years. I started growing new trees and also renewing the old ones, and my farm currently has 2500 trees. All the members of my family: Wife, and 4 children, have worked in the farm all this time. In the harvesting time I hire temporary workers. I also grow plantains, yuca and other vegetables for the consumption of the family.
Environmental Care
I dont use pesticieds for the pest control. All the control is cultural (re-re). I also teach my children about the preservation of the wildlife of the farm and reforesting with native trees, specially in the borders of the sources of fresh water.
Coffee Processing Information
We fertilize mainly with chemical products twice per year at a ratio of 70 grams per tree. We dont have troubles with broca or roya in the farm, however we do cultural control during the year. Our main harvest is from May through July
