Mr. Ricaurte Romero was born in November 12th of 1960 in Narino department, he is fifty years old, Coffee Grower for his enter life at the municipality of Chachagui, and the farm “Santa Teresa” is a heritage from his parents who did the same activity for a living. He has the history at this village of being the best coffee farmer from the location, and the reason is his attitude to all of the activities that he has done at the farm, he is always paying attention to this details that he believes are the priority to make a good quality coffee, counting between those the protection of the water, soil and air; without resting the importance to education (his own words). He is a member of the Cooperative of Coffee Growers of Western Narino. The farm is part of Specialty Coffee Programs, characterizing to follow in good way the environment conservation practices through the care of biodiversity in the farm, handle of some shades and caring of native species in the farm and the conservation of the forest. Inside the farm they use coffee sub-products like pulp, mucilage and washed water from coffee process to make organic fertilizer and good agro-manners.
