Overview
Finca San Pablo is located in Palo de Campana, Santa Ana, on the Santa Ana volcano. San Pablo has been for long one of the best farms from the Lima family, due to its excellent conditions such as altitude, varietals and soil. San Pablo was established as a coffee plantation around 1930, it was bought some 20 years ago by the Limas family and they have been working to produce only high quality coffees. San Pablo has for long been known for its very fertile lands, it frequently receives volcanic ashes, which makes the soils even richer and more fertile. Abundant flora and fauna can be found in San Pablo, since a large portion of the farm is preserved as a natural forest, right besides a national forest reserve called Parque Nacional Los Volcanes. Coffee production methods are traditional as cultural practices applied had pass from generation to generation. Coffee is grown under shade trees, mostly Ingas. There are more than 85 shade trees grown in San Pablo per hectare. There are different coffee varieties planted on the property, mostly Bourbón and Kenya. San Pablo, has an altitude ranging from 5,000 to 5,500 feet, with an annual precipitation of approximately 3,500 mm, and a relative humidity ranging from 60% to 65% and temperatures from around 10º to 18º degrees Celsius. Soil type is from volcanic origins, very well drained and with high organic matter contents.
