This lot was selected from the plot called El Cafetalito which is a 1.4 hectare part of Las Mandarinas grown to Pacamara. These coffee trees have an average of 8 years old. The lot was harvested during 2 days only, and 60 people were employed. It was the first time for Las Mandarinas competing in the Cup of Excellence with Pacamara variety. The farm is owned by Mite S.A. de C.V. a family business, represented by Enrique Sol. Some cultural practices performed at this farm include, shade tree pruning, offshoot thinning, foliar fertilization using organic base. There are 20 permanent workers, 100 temporary workers during harvest and 3 families living on this farm. Harvest period goes from January to February, and they normally have 3 flowering periods between April and May. Enrique is committed with the community and collaborates financially with the Health Unit located at the Naranjos valley, on a monthly basis. They support their workers if theres any emergency and all staff have all their legal rights as workers, including holidays, extra wages at the end of the year, among others.
