About Us
Finca Valparaiso is located on the side of Balamjuyu Mountain (which in Cackchiquel means mountain of the Jaguar), in front of the Acatenango Volcano, in a town with the same name, in the department of Chimaltenango. It has a microclimate, that added to the plant varieties and farm handling, makes its coffee exceptional. This farm has been inherited through seven generations; and the last four of those have dedicated themselves to growing coffee. The coffee culture transmitted by the ancestors was to produce with excellence, no matter what hard times you may be facing (price crisis, civil war, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions).. The technological criteria applied to the harvest is environmentally friendly, in order to preserve and improve the natural resources that they have. The harvested coffee is completely ripe and is processed in a wet mill. Quality control, effort and care are essential elements throughout the whole process, starting in production, harvesting, processing, washing, drying and storing the product.
