History
He is 39 years old, he was born in Supata (Cundinamarca) and his family moved to Acevedo (Huila) when he was 2 years old. When he was 13 years old, he started as a coffee grower. He is married and he has 4 children. He was working with his father until he was 25. Then he started with his own business. He was buying small lots in different times and now all these pieces are La Esperanza farm. He is permanently receiving training through the extension service. He is a member and Secretary of the Associative Group Primaveral.
Environmental Care
Since he was 17 years old and he was studying in the school, he was interested in the preservation and protection of the environment. He has transferred this legacy to his family, farm workers and the community in general. He is happy with the Rainforest Alliance certification program because it promotes a real conscious for protecting the environment and water sources.
Coffee Processing Information
Traditional wet milling process, depulping without using water, fermentation tank, filter tanks, septic tank for residual water, etc. He uses the pulp of the coffee as organic fertilizer.
