José Oliver was born the 11th of December of 1973 in Villafatima path of the municipality of Pitalito – Huila, son of a recognized coffee farmers Manuel Antonio Galindez and Maria Natividad Cerón, who had the opportunity of send their children to the school; José Oliver become to be a agriculture engineer. Living surrounded by coffee he found the opportunity of learning about cupping, this activity is done and share with his wife Luz Mery López and his daughter María José.
Today he has two coffee lots in different villages: LA PRIMAVERA No 1, in the village La Cristalina with 7.0 hectares form those 5.3 ha are cultivated in coffee, 70 % planted with resistant varieties against rust and 30% are cultivated in caturra variety. The other farm GALOPE, is located in the village Cabuyal del Cedro, it is in total 3.5 hectares with 2.1 in coffee same varieties proportion.
They are located in different altitudes and off course they have a diverse environmental offer, Oliver is doing his own agricultural checks and getting conclusion for soil analysis and management. He is a restless person, reader of latest technology offered by the Federation; he is doing some internal research at farm level and making in practice some of these results. This is the second time José Oliver participates in the Cup of Excellence competition and is the second time he is making it to the auction.
