Farm history:              A 119 year family run farm (since 1895)

This 42 hectare farm was started by Salvador Moran, great grandfather of the current owners; planted initially with Typica coffee and replanted with Bourbón when the variety was introduced in El Salvador .

Ownership was inherited to Abel Moran Perdomo, followed by Alicia Moran de Urrutia who together with Roberto Urrutia Salazar, her husband, managed the farm for 20 years.

Since 1985 the farm has been run by José Roberto López Parker, husband to Dora Alicia Urrutia. Much of recent work has included the maintenance of an adequate density of coffee population (2,700), paving internal streets with stone and improving water supply at higher altitudes with 20 buried barrels, 3 open catchment tanks and 10 plastic containers filled with rain water capture. Together with the previously existing 30,000 gallon metal closed farm tank total capacity of water recollection is 35,000 gallons.

Family fifth generation cousins led by José Roberto López Urrutia have started to contribute in order to sell the grain directly and to plant the farm again before 2010 with more productive and roya resistant - specialty varieties (pacamara and catimor) without sacrificing cup.
