History

Mr. Garcia was born in a coffee farmers family in 1974 in the Coffee town of Marcala. Is the first of tree brothers and since child he got familiar with coffee production when during vacation time he used to help his parents with the coffee harvesting and milling activities. With the financial support of his grand parents and parents in 1980 Mr. Garcia gave his first step as a Coffee Farmer and planted his first acre of Coffee. From that moment he continued with the tradition of coffee farming in his family and apply all the knowledge acquired by his ancestor during many years of croping coffee. Aurora farm is 5 kilometers away from the town of Marcala, has an outstanding climate for growing coffee and is surrounded of forest with great bio diversity. Quality Practices The coffee is processed by using traditional methods, he owns a pulping machine and dry the grain over cement platforms on sunny days. He uses organic fertilizers as well as some supplement of Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium when necessary.

Environmental Care

This Coffee is shade grown and the shade threes host many species of birds and other animals, providing a unique environment of harmonic agri-ecological production system. Fertilization Bio-fertilizers produced in the same farm by using the Californian earthworm (Eisenia foetida) for treating the coffee pulp and Chicken manure are used. When necessary supplement of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium are applied. Prunes for sanitary purposes is the most practiced tissue management. Disease and Pest Control Cultural practices and biological control when necessary Harvesting Handpicking of ripe grains of Coffee begins in December and finish in March. This task is performed by skillful men and woman. Pulping and Fermentation Mr. Garcia has a small infrastructure for wet milling. there is a fermentation tanks, a pulping machine and a selection canal where he separates the first and second quality coffee. Drying The drying of Coffee is done over cement platforms by using the sunlight.
