History of the farm
The coffee cultivation tradition is old in the Delarisse family. Production was begun by Ruvaldo Delarisse’s grandparents, who grew coffee in Parana. However, disgusted by the losses causes by recurrent frosts, but with the intent of proceeding with coffee activity, they relinquished the Parana farms and migrated to the city of Patrocinio, located in the Cerrado Mineiro, acquiring the Chapadao de Ferro property in 1983.
The farm, with the same name as the region where it is located, is known for the peculiarity of its soil. It is located in a privileged region, with fertile soil enriched with volcanic remnants coming from a crater of an extinct volcano in the region – it is the only volcanic coffee produced on Brazilian soil, these characteristics confer upon surrounding coffees high quality, exotic flavor, unmistakable aroma and the status of “specialty coffees.”
Coffee processing system
The coffee processing system is the web method, pulped natural, implemented on the property since 2002.
Concern about quality
One of the main concerns in the planting, cultivation and preparation of coffee is, without doubt, quality. Continuously seeking more up-to-date and effective techniques, over the years we have made various investments in modern machinery for harvesting, pulping, drying and processing the product, as well as paying meticulous attention to the handling of agricultural pesticides in order to not harm the environment nor interfere with the flavor. Faced with this, quality is always recognized over time through awards already won and through ever-present effort and dedication.
