History
I come from a Typical coffee growers family, my grandfather and my father were both coffee producers as well. I really enjoy my job as grower in my farm, which is located in Las Mercedes village, Municipality of RioBlanco, Tolima. I live in the farm with my wife and 2 children. My farm has 11 hectares, 5 of them are in coffee, 2.5 in grass and 2.5 in other products for the family sustain.
Environmental Care
I take special care of the native forest as protection for the natural sources of fresh water in the farm. Some of these native trees are Nogal, Chachafruto, Guamo, Cedro, etc. The diversity of shade trees allow us to have a big variety of birds, insects and small mammals. I use the organic wastes of the house as fertilizers. I also recycle the plastics and glass wastes.
Coffee Processing Information
I only pick riped beans during the harvest season, I depulp the cherries the same day of the picking, fermentation takes about 12 hours, drying process is done in patios
