Our farm EL CAFETAL is about 2 has. And we bought it from a relative 12 years ago. When we bought it in 2008 the farm was only 1 ha. Cultivated with coffee trees and the other part was mix with trees and grass that grow naturally in the space. Now we plant the whole area with coffee, and we keep improving the conditions to produce specialty coffee.
We began in our farm with a small production of 10 QQ of the varieties CATURRA and COSTA RICA. We are now increasing our production to 20QQ with the new plants introduced to the other part of the farm. We decided to keep cultivating the varieties CATURRA and COSTA RICA because for the conditions the farm that are optimal. Nowadays we joined to an association of coffee farmers that focuses on organic coffee and is helping us to upgrade our procedures and obtain a better quality coffee.
