La Soledad y Anexo Finca La Soledad has been a property of the Perez family since 1895. The tradition of growing coffee has become the main activity of four generations. The farm was named in honor to my grandmother Soledad. Because of her and our ancestors love and passion dedicated to produce a high quality product, many recognitions and awards have been received. In 1961-1962, the 1st. place and gold award in wet milling was given to my fathers administration. It was not only the farm that we inherited, but also those feelings that make us continue the path of hard work to become better coffee growers. We believe that farms can only be sustainable if we are able to build long term relationships that allow us to responsibly plan our investments to improve life of employees and preserve our natural reserves. Coffee has given us many satisfactions. Some of them are to be able to share and transmit our knowledge to our family, to be known as producers of high quality coffee with social and environment responsibility. We have also made technical improvements to the farm, wet mill and built relationships with buyers. All of these have reflected results in the improvement of our employees lives. Acatenango region has many advantages for growing coffee: altitude, microclimate, appropriate soil, excellent varieties that combined to produce the special quality jurors enjoyed in the cup.
