Overview
Trinidad coffee farm is located in Santa Rosa de Lima, Santa Rosa. The property stands at 5,500-5,960 feet above the sea level and within pleasant temperature from 17-21 Cº. The annual precipitations are 1250 mm. During 2008-2009 they had a harvest of 310 quintals, as result of hard work and dedication of Mr. Jose Armando Melgar Moreno, owner of Trinidad. The coffee farm begun at 1993, later at 1998 they built the first fermentation deposit and modified a depulping machine. On that year Mr. Melgar built bigger patios to dry coffee. Later, in 2008 he built the first three granite brick patios and is planning to build all the patios with same resistant material, in the future. The coffee plantation has an extension of 43.5 manzanas, 25 manzanas are producing coffee and the others are young plantations. Don Jose is a coffee farmer that produces environmental friendly coffee, he has 5 manzanas of natural forest as reserve; in addition in Trinidad they used native species as shade trees. This actions help to preserve the water resources in the farm.
