FARAMI is the composition of the surnames: Fallas and Ramírez, our family.
In 1983 Mr. Juan Luis Fallas Mata, inherited 3,5 ha of land and two years later he decided to plant coffee as its main productive activity. Three years later he had his first harvest and decided to join the Santa María de Dota Cooperative as partners. In 2003 the farm grew with the inheritance of 2,5 more ha.
In 2007 the company implemented the practice of a “FINCA INTEGRAL DIDACTICA”, which allows the use of the soils in contribution with the environment and the development of organic materials. This maximizes the use of resources and energies of the farm, depending on its agroecological charateristics.
In 2010, the Ministry of Agricultural and Livestock recognized the environmental responsibility of the company and collaborated to acquire a micro-mill, which contributed to our independence and the direct sale of the golden coffee beans.
For the first time, this year, the company decided to participate in Cup of Excellence aware of the potential of our coffee. Obtaining third place has been an added value for our coffee and a great motivation to keep improving the quality of the product.
We thank the Specialty Coffee Association of Costa Rcia and Cup of Excellence for this great opportunity that has help promote our coffee at a national and international level.
