History of the farm
The land was inherited from my father, and twenty years ago I established the coffee plantation as it has all the characteristics for good use, such as: good soil, elevation, cool climate. With all of this, catui and catucai were chosen for their resistance to pests and for being adapted to our climate. The plantation was done in this way, uniform and seeking quality and productivity in the crop. And this year I was not able to follow the harvest due to a health problem, but I had the privilege of counting on my son, Jose Renato, until then a student, to administer and perform the post-harvest process that
is essential to maintaining the quality of the coffee. And, at his request, I sent a sample to the Cup of Excellence for the first time, which incidentally achieved an excellent result
Coffee processing system
Chacara Vista Alegri has only one patio with greenhouse-like covered areas, but it is headed for expansion. The coffee is pulped by the wet method, remaining in the trough for 30 to 60 minutes, then goes to the patio where it is spread as finely as possible until all the water is removed and then it is raked according to the space of the patio until it reaches the specified humidity and is later bagged and send to the depot to await final processing.
