This is our third year participating in Costa Rica Cup of Excellence. It has certainly been an unforgettable experience. We are very happy and grateful to God because we are among the best coffees in the country. This year, we had more time to prepare our coffee, with an awesome process of crushing and drying, but above all, with great care and love, we obtained very good results. In this way, we prepared the samples that were going to participate in Cup of Excellence. This work carried out all my family participation, my wife, my daughter, and I, Marco Antonio.
We know that we have to face challenges and economic difficulties and that we must invest time and resources for this beautiful award and we are satisfied with our results.
The meaning of the name of our farm “Vara Blanca”, comes from a tree of mid-rise and is characterized by a white rind with a vertical growth in the form of very straight stick, that is why this region is called Vara Blanca.
I think the program is a great opportunity that allows producers to know the quality of the coffee they produced and thus, be able to implement strategies that allow us to improve in quality, cup taste and milling procedures based on the recommendations of the national and international cup tasters. I thank all of them for teaching me new things.
