El Sauce Estate, Jinotega Gregorio Hernandez He was a worker of the same farm where he works now. But during the Sandinista revolution he was benefited with an agrarian reform deed and since then he has struggle to make his farm an opportunity for development. Gregorio Hernandez is the owner of a modest farm. Here he grows one of the 8 best coffees of the country. Together with his wife he feels very proud that his children are studying high school in Jinotega and that they share a common good to guarantee their future. Coffee is the ideal source that we small producers have to come out of poverty... Thanks to God and the cooperative, we are a group of peasants ready to move forward this is the clean expression of Don Goyo, as many know him. This time.... (Thanks to the cup of excellence) our efforts are being compensated with better prices that we will obtain during the international bid. This will allow us to direct the resources to our lands and to improve the conditions of my workers El Sauce belongs to a cooperative of small coffee producers. They have technical assistance and financing from Soppexcca RL (a financial organization) that has branches in Jinotega and its counties.
