Cafetalera Herbazú is a familiar company of coffee growers that has been dedicated to coffee growing, for over 50 years. We are the proud owners of our plots and started with the milling process in the year 2001, because of the low coffee prices in the market, searching for an alternative that would allow us to keep alive the coffee activity.
The Barrantes family is considered one of the first pioneers of the micro-mill revolution in Costa Rica . They are consistently ranked among the best farms in the country and in COE. We are located at 1500 meters above sea level in Lourdes of Naranjo, were the climate is just perfect for the coffee farming. La Planada is a 3-hectare farm that produces different coffee varieties: Villa Sarchi, Gesha, SL28 y Typica Lyma. This is the third crop of the Typica Lyma.
We have tried to maintain a traditional, good practice production were the coffee is picked and milled the same day and the coffee parchment is dried mostly by sun.
