History of the farm
Property acquired by Virgilio Alves Pereira around 1930, which after passed to his son Jose Dias Pereira who was one of the founders of the Cooperativa Regional dos Cafeicultores do Vale do Rio Verde LTDA (Regional Cooperative of Coffee Growers of Vale Verde Ltda), where he worked for over 30 years.
The property was named Fazenda do Pinhal, which was divided by six sons, leaving this glebe to his older daughter. This crop of Yellow Bourbón had seedlings originated in Jacutinga, Minas Gerais, nursery that had only worked with seeds from Campinas Agronomic Institute.
She helped her husband to rule Fazenda do Pinhal, which was of coffee and milk, at the time with over 60 employees duly registered, with decent housing (light and water) at that time.
After that she was one of founders of the Associacao dos Cafeicultores do Vale do Rio Verde (Association of Coffee Growers of Vale do Rio Verde), ASCARIVE, a FLO-cert certified association.
Today even with her vision affected she continues with her passion that is coffee. The Agriculture Technician Sebastiao Marcio Pereira Nogueira, her son, is also her assistant and works as Manager of the Technical Department of COCARIVE.
