Overview:
Neftali Castro Velasco was born the 1st of October of 1978, in the mountains of Cajamarca municipality of Cajamarca, agricultural pantry of Tolima state, well-known by the production of great diversity vegetables and cold climate fruits. He is being dedicated to coffee since very young age; their parents instilled from small love to the Earth and care to the nature, which turned into a working man and example to follow, by its persistence and capacity to progress. At the moment he lives with his parents, his sister and nephew. For already four years, Neftali has been dedicated in body and soul to coffee in his farm El Diamante; that counts on a total surface of 25 hectares, of which four are seeded in coffee. From its house, located in the path El Espejo, can be appreciated the beautiful landscape of Cajamarca municipality. With will and effort, he has fulfilled the dream to technify his property not only in coffee, meaning Castillo Varietals, but also with corn, beans, vegetables production and some cows. As a recognized leader in the region, he is the president of the Association of Coffee of Cajamarca (CAFESCA), in addition belongs to the associations of beans and avocadoes producers; and his vocation of commitment to the society he is part of the group of volunteers of the Civil defense; in charge of taking care of emergencies cost by natural disasters. One of its more outstanding skills is his love and passion to the protection and conservation of the environment, for that reason he is member of the Corporation of Defense of the Environment in his place.
