History
The farm Vista Alegre is part of a family society between mother and four children, where high quality coffee is made, awarded in many contests.
The property is located on the region of Origin Indication of Serra da Mantiqueira, south of Minas Gerais, having fertile lands and forest reserve areas, existing the concern and care to preserve forests and springs, thus ensuring plenty of water and vast fauna of wild animals.
Coffee processing system
Due to the topography and to assure quality, the harvest is selective and made manually on cloths, avoiding contact of the fruits with the soil. Then, the grains are taken to the processing area, to be washed and drying.
The grains are spread carefully on drying yards and rolled over from 15 to 20 times a day. The drying is made under the sunlight and homogeneous. After reaching the ideal moisture percentage the grains are stored on wooden granaries, where they remain for 30 days. After the resting period, the lost are benefited, bagged and stored on Cocarive cooperative, in Carmo de Minas for commercialization.
Quality concern
As philosophy, the owners care for the socio-environmental responsibility and personal dedication on the search for production with excellence. As result the coffees have already been exported to several countries.
The Sitio Vista Alegre and other proprieties are certified by two socio-environmental management systems: UTZ Certified and the Minas Gerais State Program of Coffee Certification Certifica Minas.
